Perry Pear juice 220 Litres
Traditionally Perry Pears were kept in outside heaps until December for optimal juice quality.
Shake & catch harvesting has given us great quality Pears that have been held over in our cold store so we can press them at their best.
We blend Three varieties of Perry Pear, Antricotin, Fausset and Longbois.
Unlike Dessert pear varieties, used to make Pear cider, these are more astringent and dry.
They do blend extremely well with sweeter fruit including dessert pears and apples.
They are grown in "Five acres", "Dock" or Paddock orchards from which we have thinned 60% of trees to make them far less intensive and configured to allow more airflow around the trees thus less chemical inputs and allow Shake & Catch harvesting.
This option is conveniently packaged in a new plastic 220 litre drum which is strong enough to use as a
fermentation vessel in combination with an airlock device.
